I am an experienced, board certified psychoanalyst and psychiatrist. I earned my medical degree from the University of Miami, School of Medicine in 1991. I completed a Residency in adult psychiatry and a Fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1996. Later I completed post-graduate training in psychoanalysis at the Florida Psychoanalytic Institute in 2000.

I worked as an Associate Professor in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Jackson Memorial hospital from 1996-98’. During that time I served as Medical Director of Children’s Crisis where I treated children and adolescents with emotional problems, helped parents and families, and trained child psychiatry Fellows.

I began my private practice in psychiatry and psychoanalysis in 1998, working with children, adolescents, and adults.

Presently, I am a voluntary faculty member at the University of Miami, Department of Psychiatry, and serve as a psychiatric consultant at the University Counseling Center. I also teach at the Florida Psychoanalytic Institute, and have held the position of Secretary to the Education Committee, and co-chair of the Program Committee at the Institute.
